Thoughts on The People Concern

Pairing homelessness services with domestic violence services under one roof makes a lot of practical sense, even though the two causes are usually funded and marketed separately. In reality they overlap constantly — fleeing an abusive situation is one of the more common paths into homelessness in the first place.

I appreciate that their public materials are specific rather than vague: calls answered, people trained, legal cases handled. It's easier to trust an organization's use of donations when the numbers are concrete enough that you could, in theory, go check them.
