Operation Christmas Child Thoughts

Thoughts on Operation Christmas Child

There's something I like about a giving model built around an actual box rather than just a transaction. Packing a shoebox turns generosity into something a whole family can do together, which is a different kind of engagement than clicking a donate button, even if the dollar impact ends up similar.

It's also a good example of a gift with a second act: the shoebox itself is the hook, but the discipleship follow-up program that often comes with it means the impact doesn't end the moment the box is opened. That combination of a tangible gift and a longer relationship feels well suited to what the holiday season is supposed to be about.
